To submit a paper to NSSPW 2006, please go through the following steps: (last update 07/10/2006)

  1. TEMPLATES & INSTRUCTIONS : To prepare your final full paper, please use the following templates and follow the instructions in any of the two files below. Please note the submission deadline is July 17 2006.

Word template      Acrobat template      Latex template and style files

  2. LENGTH : For contributed papers, the maximum number of pages for your final full paper is 4. For invited/plenaries papers, the maximum number of pages is 6.
  3. PAPER SUBMISSION : ALL papers must be submitted in PDF format and MUST comply with the 'IEEE Requirements for PDF Documents'. The conference is required to ensure that documents follow this specification. The requirements are enumerated in IEEE Requirements for PDF Documents v3.2 [PDF].

NSSPW-06 has registered for use of a new IEEE tool: IEEE PDF eXpress. The new IEEE XploreR Requirements for PDF will be enforced as of 2005. All conference articles submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore must adhere to the IEEE Xplore PDF specification for compatibility. NOTE: this service is available until 8/17/2006.

    More information about this service

IEEE PDF eXpress is a free service to IEEE conferences, allowing their authors to make IEEE Xplore-compatible PDFs (Conversion function) or to check PDFs that authors have made themselves for IEEE Xplore compatibility (PDF Check function). IEEE PDF eXpress converts the following file types to PDF: Rich Text Format, Freelance, (La)TeX (DVI and all support files required)*, PageMaker, FrameMaker, QuarkXpress*, Word Pro, Microsoft Word, WordPerfect.

*For documents created in formats that do not embed source files, include all support files with the final manuscript in a folder. Put this folder in a compressed archive for submission. If it is possible to embed images in the source document, you should do so to avoid potential issues, such as missing graphics.

IMPORTANT : A DVI (DeVice Independent file) is required for LaTeX conversions, in addition to all associated image files. Make sure that your LaTeX system can output a DVI, otherwise it cannot be converted. Be sure also to check that your images are properly referenced, and that DVI can handle the image file types used (DVI does not handle some newer image types, such as *.png).

IMPORTANT : We stongly recommend that you generate or at least check your PDF files with PDF eXpress before submitting. In this way, we will ensure that the conference proceedings will be posted on IEEE Xplore in the shortest time possible. Instructions on how to use the PDF eXpress tool are available here. First time users will need to register before using this tool. The followings are some extra information when using service:
