Audio and Music Processing (AMP) Reading Group

Scope

Informal discussion group of current (and past) literature on audio and music processing, at the Signal Processing and Communications Lab., Dept. of Engineering, University of Cambridge.

Topics include (but not limited to)

Format

The presenter chooses 2 or 3 conference papers from a pool for detailed study, plus 2-3 papers for brief overview and summary coverage. Another possibility is to present 1 conference paper from the pool and an earlier journal paper that explains the background theory.

The presenter sends the abstracts and full papers to Taylan Cemgil (atc27) a few days earlier via email, who forwards it to the whole group. Ideally, all participants read the papers before the meeting.

The presenter is encouraged to get some slides and audio examples of the paper(s) (there is a beamer and a set of speakers) but a whiteboard presentation is also welcome.

The main idea is to stimulate discussion among participants and to become familiar with the quickly expanding literature on audio signal processing. The group is open to anyone, don't hesitate to just drop by.

Frequency

We meet every second week, on fridays at 15:30-17:00. Check the Schedule.

Place

Division F meeting room on the fifth floor (through MIL - top floor of Baker building of the Dept. of Engineering).

If you wish to be included in (or excluded from) the mailing list to get a reminder, send an email to atc twentyseven at cambridge dot academic dot uk.
