MARGO Technologies was founded in 2006 as a spin-out from Cambridge University Engineering Department to design and deliver audio restoration solutions to the wireless industry.

 

Management Team

 

Jack Lang, Chairman

Jack is a serial entrepreneur, business angel, and Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Cambridge. Most recently Chief Technologist of NTL, Jack has founded a number of high tech companies including Artimi Ltd, NetChannel Ltd (sold to NTL Europe and AOL USA ), Electronic Share Information Ltd (sold to E*Trade) and TopexPress (sold to VSEL).

 

Amy Mokady, Director

Since the early '90s, Amy Mokady has held senior sales, marketing and business development roles at some of the mobile industry's leading companies, working with both start-up and multi-national companies. She was a co-founder and marketing director of STNC Ltd., a mobile start-up acquired by Microsoft in 1999. Other roles have included head of product strategy and international development at Hutchison 3G, working closely with Hutchison's worldwide 3G operations, and director of business development at QUALCOMM Internet Services, where she was responsible for defining the company's European BREW strategy. More recently, Amy was vice president of business development at Pogo Mobile Solutions, a start-up focused on the ease of use of mobile data, and Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Cambridge-MIT Institute, responsible for the commercialization of CMI's research portfolio. She has a degree in Mathematics from Cambridge University.

 

Dr. Han Lin, Chief Technology Officer

Han is the inventor of MARGO’s key technologies, and is responsible for taking them forward into products. He has over 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, gained through roles at Clearcom Communication Systems, Tality Corporation, and Cadence Design Systems.  Han holds a PhD from University of Cambridge, an MSc from Stanford University, and a BSc from Columbia University, all in Electrical Engineering.

 

Chris Coffin, Chief Operating Officer

Chris has over 30 years experience in the electronics industry, specialising in the management of R&D projects. He was manager of the largest division of Cambridge Consultants and has subsequently been Engineering Director of several high-tech companies including Simoco Radio and ClearSpeed Technology (formerly PixelFusion), as well as providing technical and project management consultancy through Richmond Management Services and as an associate of 42 Technology. Chris is a Fellow and former Council Member of the IET and has an engineering degree from Cambridge and an MBA from Cranfield.

 

Dr. Fatima Wang, VP of Marketing and Sales

Currently a professor in marketing strategy at the University of Monaco, Fatima is an experienced marketing and sales executive, who has also worked in engineering management and corporate finance.  Her most recent role was as International Development Manager at President Corporation in Taiwan, where she was responsible for initiating and developing international alliances.  She holds a BA in Applied Foreign Languages from the University of Paris – Sorbonne and a PhD in marketing strategy from the University of Cambridge.

 

Michael Carter, Chief Financial Officer

Michael is a graduate Chartered Accountant having qualified with KPMG in 1978. He has over 10 years experience in developing and growing software

companies in the CFO role. He holds a similar position with Cambridge based Short Fuze and has worked for Tumbleweed & FileNET both of the US in international roles and Clearswift and NetChannel in the UK. He is author of start-up book "It's all cobblers!"

 

Dr. Ke-Wei Huang, VP of International Business

Ke-wei has a number of years experience in both electrical engineering and international finance. He has degrees from the National Taiwan University and New York University, and is currently a professor in Information Systems at the University of Singapore.

 

Dr. Ji-Won Yoon, VP of Technical Sales

Ji-Won graduated from the Signal Processing Lab of the University of Cambridge and is currently a researcher at University of Oxford Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning group. Ji-Won is experienced in electrical engineering, computer science, and sales.  Ji-Won has various connections in Korea and UK and will lead the sales force.
