Background:
I am a PhD student in the Signal Processing Group at the Department of Engineering in Cambridge University. Simon Godsill is my supervisor while Andrew Blake is my industrial supervisor at Microsoft Research. Microsoft kindly sponsor my PhD studies.

I am a member of Darwin College also. I recently completed my undergraduate degree at University College Dublin with Scott Rickard as my supervisor.

Research:
My PhD is concerned with the topic of Acoustic Source Tracking - that the tracking of the location of a person within a room such as a living room or an office as they move around it using only recordings of what they are saying. The system uses Sequential Monte Carlo (SMC) Methods.

Interests:

  • Football. I play/played the Gaelic, Soccer, Aussie and Rugby Varieties! I am captain of the Cambridge University Gaelic Football team. Recently I set up the university hurling team also.
