Acoustic Source Tracking:

The focus of my PhD thus far as be focused on Acoustic Source Tracking - that is tracking a speech source (a person) as the source moves around a room based on the recordings of what the person is saying.

The approach taken here uses Particle Filters to overcome the noisy measurements.

The following are some videos of real AST in an office room. The algorithm can run in real time and it estimates both source position and orientation simultaneously. The source is a computer speaker driven by a male speech sample:
