Thesis Title:

Supervisor: Joan Lasenby

Background

As of 2025, Alberto is a final year PhD student, working on Geometric Algebra Networks with Joan Lasenby.
The goal of his research is to make the learning of inherently geometric problems as as intuitive and as human-like as possible.
During his PhD, Alberto has interned 3 times: at Microsoft Research Cambridge (2022, on ML-aided optical communications), Huawei Munich Research Centre (2023, on physics modelling and engineering simulation) and Microsoft Redmond (2024, on diffusion models for computer vision).
His research of the last 4 years has appeared in the form of >10 publications between journals and international conferences alike, and won Best Paper Award twice (ENGAGE 2022, ICACGA 2022).

Research Interests

Geometric Machine Learning - Interpretable Machine Learning - 2 and 3D Computer Vision - Protein Structure Prediction - Pose Estimation - Geometric Algebra.
